My Best Craft Fair

I’ve had my best craft fair to date yesterday, I was at Queen’s Hall, Watton in Norfolk where there was a great outcome of people looking around. I sold 17 cards and 2 shopping lists, taking in over twenty pounds over the course of four and a half hours. Was a great day though a little worrying with it raining as everyone was setting up but luckily it cleared up.

I sold all of my Happy Anniversary cards that day, need to make some more for the next fair and remember there’s a lot of spring weddings. There’s a few other things I need for the next one and I also hope to have some pretty hair clips ready to sell. I will try and get some new photos of my crafts up on my website as soon as possible but I have got a new laptop where I’m trying to set up everything I need (including the software I use to make/edit my sites).

New Crafts!

I have been ordering some buttons of different kinds for the next craft I wish to try and to see if they sell well at my craft fairs. Most of my supplies came today though I’m still waiting on some more and can’t get started until they arrive. Hopefully that will be Monday and once I’ve done some I can show you all on here with some pictures.

I should have made enough to sell at my first craft fair next March, look at the side at events for more information in your in the local area and wish to come along.

Also getting a new laptop Monday, my old one is dead and my back up computer just can’t do everything I want or need it to do. So it’ll be a busy day for me it seems.

New Look

I apologise for not being around, I haven’t had the best winter with being ill a lot and then having computer problems. Anyway, enough about that. I wasn’t liking the way the blog was looking and so have changed things about a little making me much more happy with the way it is.

I hope to write in here a lot more often, maybe even everyday? One day a post about updates to my websites, another about ME/CFS then I could do one about Crafts and Photography. I will try and do separate posts for each site instead of putting things altogether. Was too messy before but hopefully that will change in the coming months.

I hope everyone reading this is doing alright and I hope to write in very soon x

Third Craft Fair

I had my third craft fair yesterday and it went brilliantly! Was such a great day. Before the craft fair was even open to customers/the public I got an extra table due to someone not turning up next to me. Meaning I could put my notebooks on which I couldn’t do with a smaller table.

I saw a lot of familiar faces around which I talked to, had quite a laugh that day. Met some new people too who were lovely, I got around to swapping details with more people that day. Taking peoples cards. I’m really enjoying these craft fairs and it was just a big bonus that I made quite a nice bit of money! I sold my first two photos, an A5 notebook, two shopping list notebooks and some cards. So I was really happy, nearly bouncing around.

I have another craft fair this month but unfortunately I have none in October. I might take that month to finally get around to sorting out an online shop, starting off with eBay at first as my friends who don’t live in the local area want some of my work. Will be great if I get other interest to from others around the UK.

I’ve started making Christmas cards which I will be (hopefully) selling at a craft fair this November. I’m really happy with the ones I’ve made so far but only have around ten so need to make some more!

First Two Craft Events

Sorry I haven’t wrote here for so long! I’ve been busy getting ready for my first two craft fairs and when I wasn’t doing that I was trying to rest/recover from my first fair. Very tiring but well worth it!

My first one was just down the road from where I live which was very useful. I got there nice and early and got my stall up in record time compared to others in the hall. I only sold four cards, but it was more then I expected and it was my first go! No one knew of me and after time people will remember me and come to these places hoping I’m there to buy my cards.

I made some great fellow craft friends who were selling things that day, got talking to a few of them who were all very friendly. Offered me advice, tips and that. Some took my business card, one lady took a few to leave out after her craft lessons for her students! Another took one with my number to contact me about another craft fair that was coming up. The lady who does the event asked if I wanted to do another two fairs before the end of the year, which I agreed to. I thought she was fully booked but apparently not. Also, someone from the local high school came round with a invite to us craft people to have a stall at their summer fair that is happening next month! So am doing that too!

I was there for -counts- around five and a half hours, long time for myself with my how my health is. I did get tired during that time and had to have food/snacks to keep me going. But I managed to stay there for the whole thing. I had a rest upon returning home and the day did catch up with me in the week a little but I was fully rested and ready to do my second one, this weekend just gone.

It was a car boot sale across with a craft fair at my local church, a little further away but still easy enough to get to so the journey was not long. It was raining that day and I had no idea how to get a table inside, so it looked like I might have to go home as the rain that was just slightly spitting got heavier! While I was there I thought I would check inside for the future on how to get a table inside. It was my lucky day, as someone had cancelled a table and they had room for me! So I set up inside and made more money then my first fair, selling four cards and a notebook.

Made more friends there and the person in charge took down my details to contact me about next years events. The person next to me told me about a Christmas fair coming up and how to contact the person in charge of that. (Who I have already phoned and left a message for her to get back to me), she also gave me a useful site for where craft fairs are in the local area. One of the people there was someone I had met during my first craft fair as well. So all in all, it’s going well so far. (website is stall finder)

I had to have a rest after my second craft fair and tried not to do much yesterday (the day after). My next fair is on the third of September, the same place as my first craft fair. So I have time to make more cards of the ones I sold and any people looked for but I didn’t have enough or any of. Only just started to make notebooks and only have five! (One I made today to replace the one I sold) so will be making more of those as I think they will be popular at the school fair next month. Have also started to make a few Christmas cards.

Health Note

My health is up and down  a lot, obviously it’s using quiet a bit of energy to make some of my crafts (mostly the notebooks as it takes a little strength to use the machine I have) and of course moving my things for my stall and the event itself. But I’m really enjoying myself and hope to make a little money from it as I continue.

Craft Events

Probably wondering why I haven’t wrote here for awhile, I’ve been a bit of a busy bee as of late. I have been busy getting ready for my first craft fair which is coming up in August. Yep, I have my first official one all booked and ready, I just have to get everything prepared and ready for the day. Been busy mounting photographs, pricing things up, taking pictures of my cards, that I still need to edit, so I can put them online.

Talking about that, if you haven’t noticed already I updated my Photography website yesterday to include that of my crafts. Emily Radcliffe Photography and Crafts.
The new layout means I can have a couple extra things around on the pages, like my twitter account, facebook page, events and so on. I also got a link up to this blog on there.
Though the Gallery already has links ready to that of my crafts, nothing is up as yet but some will be soon, maybe not all my things before my first craft fair but hopefully at least some.

My first craft fair is 6th August while my next is the following Saturday on the 13th. Both are in Norfolk and more information on times and locations can be found both on my site (see about page) or my facebook page (see events). So if your in the local area why not come along and have a look? I won’t be the only one selling my things, there will be more with other crafts.

Crafts & Health

CRAFTS

I’ve been making a lot of cards the last few days. I went to hobby craft earlier this week to get some supplies I needed and also came away with some bargins! I love it when that happens. I definitely have enough cards to start my own stall at a craft fair. I just need to sort out my photography which I have mentioned before and won’t go into that today, I’ll just say that I know what I need/want to do but have to wait a few days until I get some money.

I really need to set aside some time to take professional photographs of all my cards to upload online. I will be adding a gallery of my crafts onto my Photography site and turn it into ‘Emily Radcliffe, Photography & Crafts’. Seems to be the best idea. The site also needs a link to this blog and somewhere for me to put where I will be next in the Norfolk area if they wish to buy any of my things.

HEALTH

Health is still good, I have a day trip coming up in around a months time which I need to be ready for. That is making me push myself a little to keep myself going, not to fall back or get a little lazy. It’s a bit of a risk as it will be a long day of a trip but I think it’ll do me good like my holiday did. Cause at first I wasn’t sure about that either but it did me the world of good and people have said I seem much better and brighter in myself.

I’ve been thinking for awhile now to do some you tube videos about my ME/CFS for those that are not healthy enough to read or struggle to read from the screen. I might try and start those next week. Then again, I could do with a tripod for my camera first so might need to wait for some money again or build myself one with books -laughs-

Rollercoaster of Health

My health has been doing well since I came back from my holiday a couple weeks ago. I admit, last week I struggled due to the heat which quickly drains my energy and quite a bit of pain which also drained me. I’ve managed to go for a walk and do my wii fit today so things seem a bit more back on track.

Though I am a tired right now, it’s another hot day here. Trying to stay as cool as possible and will be staying in for the rest of the day, out of the sun. Though I do like it when it’s nice, I wish it didn’t drain my energy as much. Or I was feeling better in myself to be able to cope with it. Since the latter is unlikely to happen anytime soon, I hope this heat wave doesn’t last that long or it cools down just a little so I can cope better.

Websites
I haven’t been working on any updates of late and I’m sorry about that. Hopefully I can get back into that later this week or the beginning of next.
